How does the matching work?
Pet Twin uses AI image embeddings to analyze your pet's photo and compare it against a large database of pet images. The result is a similarity score between 0–100%. The closer to 100%, the more alike they look. You don't need to enter a breed or any other information — just one photo.
How many matches do I get?
Free users get 15 matches per day. The count resets every day at midnight. If you want unlimited matches, you can upgrade to Premium for a one-time purchase of $2.99 — no subscription.
What is the Twin Network?
The Twin Network is an opt-in feature that lets you add your pet to the database. Once added, other users can find your pet as a twin result. You'll receive a push notification every time someone matches with your dog. You can remove your pet from the network at any time from the My Pet screen.
What are Woofs?
After finding a twin, you can send a Woof to the pet's owner — a friendly nudge saying you'd like to connect. If the other owner sends a Woof back, a chat opens between you. It's mutual and fully opt-in. Neither party can message the other without both agreeing first.
What is the Leaderboard?
Every match earns you points based on how high the similarity score is. These points put you on a global leaderboard — both weekly and all-time. The better your matches, the higher you climb. Top performers earn titles like "Legendary".
Are my photos stored?
Photos you take to search for a twin are processed by our AI to generate a mathematical fingerprint (embedding) and are not permanently stored. If you choose to add your pet to the Twin Network, that photo is stored in our database so others can find it as a result. You can delete your pet from the network at any time. Does Pet Twin work for cats too?
Yes! The AI works with any pet photo. The database is continually growing with both dogs and cats.
How do I cancel or restore a purchase?
Pet Twin Premium is a one-time purchase — there is no subscription to cancel. If you switch devices or reinstall the app, tap "Restore Purchases" on the upgrade screen to recover your purchase. If you have billing issues, these are handled by Apple — contact Apple Support or visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my data?
To remove your pet from the Twin Network, open the My Pet tab in the app and tap "Remove from Network". This deletes your pet's photo and data from our database. For all other data deletion requests, please contact us at hello@pettwin.app.
The app isn't loading / something looks broken.
Try force-quitting and reopening the app. Make sure you're on the latest version from the App Store. If the problem persists, please reach out — we respond to every message.
